stress
some stress is always going to be evident, learn what it is and the best way to deal with it.
like the old saying goes: try not to sweat the little things" goes a long way when dealing with stress I believe. don't worry about things you cant control is another frame of mind you can adhere to also
Anthony, Keeping it simple is good. Many of us over complicate things for no reason. This just adds extra stress to our lives. Little need for that most of the time!

Best practice depends on maximizing your time in class. Keeping it simple.
Hi, do you have any best practices that you can recommend?
So true Craig. It's great to be able to talk out stressors with people who are going through similar situations. Learning more about coping mechanisms that work and even just venting with people who really understand where you are coming from can make you feel better.
I agree. By sharing your stresses with others that are experiencing the same, you can get other points of view and new ideas on how to cope.
I also think more people should think this way...if you have no control over something, why worry about it. Cope with whatever it is to the best of your ability.
I like this approach Kathryn and I fully agree. We've got to focus on the things we can control. Not doing so can really drive us crazy.
It is always important not to "Cry over spilt milk”. If you can not control or changer the stressor, learn to cope. Coping skills are extremely important.
This is where faculty in-services can be helpful. With no students around, faculty can share their sources of stress and suggest solutions to each other in a non-judgmental environment. It would be nice to have every in-service include a closing session for "faculty concerns" that isn't scripted. Just the opportunity to deal with whatever the current issues are.
