Coping with stress
Its better to take a deep breath, exercise, and meditate than to just fly off the handle.
Phil, So true! It's definitely wise to take a step back sometimes instead of reacting to a stressful situation. Once we cool off, we are in a better position to respond. Reacting and responding are two very different things.

I learned the hard way that letting stress control my emotions only leads to more stress. The old 'count to ten' technique has merit.
Nestor, Excellent to hear. Yes, many instructors find that routine exercise helps a lot. Also note, you can be consistent in getting physical fitness while at the same time, mix up the kinds of exercise you do. Sometimes this variety can help you keep going.

I agree. I am fortunate that I found self help books interesting at a very early age. I have developed healthy coping mechanisms over time. Meditaion, deep breathing, and exercise are all a part of my weekly plan. It definetly helps just to bring yourself back to center and let the stress go.

Being involved in a regular exercise program has really helped me cope tremendously with the stressors in my life.
I make coping strategies part of my daily routine because there will always be something to stress me but I'll always be one step ahead of it.
I agree. We all have stress in our daily life it is how we deal with it, I like to walk away from the situation take a brake and clear my mind.
