I agree with the both of you. I will often do a quick exercise with the class to demonstrate the different learning styles that exist in that particular class. This would be followed by a discussion as to the most preferred learning styles and those that have proven to be successful for them in the past. I would ask students to share examples of major projects or assignments they've successfully completed and the learning style they used versus the teaching style received. This is often done in one of the first sessions and what is found will be applied for the rest of the term.
