Engaging Students

I like to engage the students by reversing the role and having them teach on a topic

Hi Sandra,
It is always a good practice to follow up to ensure all students understand once a chapter/concept has been taught by a student.

allowing each student to teach a subject matter is very effective becuase as peers they relate more to the understanding of the material.

Hi Bonita,
The instructor can see exactly how the students feel, this may be the biggest challenge.

By reversing the role, the student and instructor both interject demonstrations that serve as a learning mechanism for the entire class. Does this seem to have its challenges for the instructor?

Students have unique perspectives and experiences. These experience can allow the entire class and staff to learn new things.

I agree and have noticed when we do this in class the students are highly motivated to participate and become a teacher to others. We give our students different topics to comment on by using what we have taught in the content and they become engaged in presenting their points to others.
