Syallbus
I go over the syllbus every class room each phase and make it very clear. They are all handed one also. So what do you do with the students that never bring there books and ask for another handout almost every class?
Hi Michael,
You are definitely on point! Policies are put in place to be adhered to and enforced.

I absolutely agree! One must be stern but fair about enforcing policies and procedures as to create a sense of responsibility for the students.
Hi Mayra,
Do not allow the students to ignore the syllabus. Hold their feet to the fire and enforce the rules, policies, and procedures. Adults too will take full advantage of you, if you allow them to do so.

As a Newbee, When I created the syllabus I thought I added all the policy and course requirements needed. Now I find that I need to add more knowing that half the class ignore the syllabus. I do however, tell then to check their syllabus and the online calender for upcoming assignments and I write assignments on the board and remind offenders of the rules.
At our library, we have duplicates of all our course material. The student has to go out of their way and take iniative to acquire a copy if they lose their own. When they find it takes extra effort to replace lost paperwork they increase their own effort applied bringing books and papers to class.
Hi James,
Have a firm conversation with this student to determine if they are serious about their education, and let them know the next time they are not responsible enough to keep up with course material, you will ask them to leave for the day.
