handling late or missed assignments
I add more to the assignment every day that it is late and keep the student engaged in the topic that is due and keep supporting them till the end of class , in which case the non assignment will effect their grade or they finally finish it and start to have a feeling of accomplishment. That things are starting to get done.

Hi Beverly,
You have it! Most adult students appreciate consistency with rules, policies, and procedures.

I agree, Patricia. Being consistent is the key to convincing MOST of your students to get their work in on time. There will always be a few who simply are not committed to doing well, but the majority will accept and respect firm standards.
Hello, I follow assignments and give a time stamp date to finish
Hi Noreen,
When students learn that you mean what you say, most of them will rise to the challenge and do what they are suppose to do.
Patricia Scales
The assignment schedule is given the first day of class along with expectations and the penalty for a late assignment. Sticking to my guns have eliminated about 98% of late work. I do continue to encourage the students to make every attempt to meet deadlines as this will be expected in the working work.
Hi Robert,
I like how you give the students more to do to encourage them to turn their work in on time, but at the same time you still encourage the student. Continue to be your students biggest cheerleader.
