Online syllabus
Has anyone only put the syllabus on the courses website in hybrid class? Currently, I use an online system to post assignments, study guides, and grades. I have also begun putting the syllabus on the main page for quick reference. Does anyone think I should also hand out a physical copy?
Hi Tim,
Our students have to realize that they are responsible for their actions. Students should have enough concern for their education to want to print a copy of the syllabus.

I agree completely. Consistency in holding students accountable is so very important. Students are responsible for the information, including due dates, identified in the syllabus. They should be allowed to choose to print it or not. In doing so, they should also be accountable for the outcome of their decision. On a side note, I tell my students they should contact me for assistance if they are unable to access or print a copy of the syllabus.
I do also find that this is the case with the students I instruct.
I have found that having a printed copy available in the classroom is somewhat helpful.

Hi Peter,
Wow! It dees not matter the system, students will find excuses. We as educators have to let students know that their excuses are not acceptable, and they are still held accountable.

Even if an online syllabus and course schedule is easily accessible, I have found that my students do not access it. Instead, I must also have a print copy to hand to them and announce any pertinent information regularly in class.
Whenever I have relied solely on online delivery, i have found that students have more excuses for late assignments or missing information (i.e. "My laptop is broken," "the internet was out," "my account wasn't working," etc....).
Hi Yosyp,
An Online syllabus allows students to access their syllabus at anytime. Due to technology advancements students can access online information at their fingertips with cell phones. The convenience of technology.

yes I think it's look more Professional
Hi Matthew,
All course syllabi should be shared whether hybrid, online, face-to-face. Easy access to the course syllabi is definitely nice. They are college students a computerized copy will suffice. They can print their own physical copy; they have to learn how to be smart about their education. You may want to suggest to them to print them a copy of their syllabus.
