Humanities and The Kinesthetic Learner
Some students come towards Humanities courses with some interest, experience, and success in these interests. Most kinesthetic students have had no success in these interests, and, therefore, they are predisposed to dislike and resent content.
Solving their interest problems takes more than approaches that would help, for example, a culinary instructor to manage diverse interests of culinary students.
Kinesthetic/Tactile learners
These students learn best by doing (hands-on)and experiencing through field trips, group study, role-playing and laboratory projects.
This allows them to learn by association. Game models, using materials to practice, imitating and music peaks the interest of kinesthetic learners.
Relating and using different concepts related to sports, cooking, music and using repetition or catch phrases enhances the process of learning. Pressing their fingers on equipments, typing instead of writing are some of the methods that will keep these learners focused and more involved.
The idea is to peak the student's interest making learning less boring and associating feelings with the grasping of information.
