Students

When students are disruptive I do not give them any attention as they are looking for any type even negative. It usually stops after they have not received any negative or postive energy from me. Has anyone tried this?

It sounds like you want to avoid conditioning the student. you may be correct that responding to student misbehavior will reenforce it in some cases. however, for the sake of the other students who are districted by the misbehavior and your image i sugest a more proactive approach.

I haven't tried that approach. The approach I use is actually giving them attention. I call them out on whatever their problem may be. This typically puts them on the spot and shows them I care enough to question their behavior and then we can move on.
