focus
When unfocused students present themselves, take a look at the teaching style. Keep them involved, put yourself in their shoes and anylize the assessment
Hi Debbie,
We must entertain so that we can sell them on coming back the next day. Students do not like boredom.

Hi Daniel,
Sometimes confusion is written all over their face. Facial expressions say a lot. If frowing is taking place or wrinkles are formed, the student is likely to be confused. If the student is nodding there head, it can be perceived as they understand.
Patricia
I teach drafting which has a lot of time spent working on projects. I try to look for different facial expresions or odd behavior When I notice something I go directly over to the student and ask a question about their project. By giving them attention without them asking for it helps to get their focus back. This works for me because my classes are usually small and I can give more attention. With a larger class I am not sure this would be as effective.
keeping your class fun and engaged can be a challenge but is a must to maintain student focus and interest. Trying to engage them in the class or discussion helps this issue.
Hi Santos,
It is great whenever we can capture all learning styles when presenting our lessons.

Hi Earl,
We should always evaluate our teaching methods. Change is good. I do not care how good you are; you can always become better.
Patricia
I agree we should constantly evaluate our teaching methods. I believe interaction is key to staying focused and on track.
I agree, we should reevaluate our teching style to be able to adopt to students learning styles.
Hi Howard,
Any type of active learning typically keeps students focused. Students need to stay busy constantly to exercise the mind.
Patricia
I agree. We should examine our teaching style first, and try to use various ways to present our lecture to keep our students focused. Sometimes, divide the class into small groups or even a short field trip would help them stay focused.
Hi Cory,
As educators, we must try everything in our power to keep our students focused. It is our job to try to reel our students in.
