I belive sometimes students can not understand the reality of their education when it comes to apply to real life. Any guest peaker will help them understand better and find out what other availabiliies they have when they go to field. It is a great motivation for our students.

Guest speakers can re-energize a classroom and change the dynamics for a day, even if it isn't a former student. I've had guest speakers come and demonstrate new products and the feedback has been terrific.
A guest speaker who is a former student can be just the motivating factor that moves students in the right direction.
We have had graduates from our school come back as a guest and speak to our students about their time and experience here, what theyy learned from it and how they apply it to their place of employment ( while working successfully in the field). Students end class with a new motivation and drive to succeed.
