Challenging Students
Trying to keep them involved and listening to them seems to work most of the time. You cant look away!
Hi Tony,
As long as you let your students know that you are there for them, that is all you can do. They must step up to the plate and do what needs to be done.

I will ask them what is their purpose of being in school.I tell them I am here to help them reach their goal of learning a skill that will earn them a good living only if they apply themselves. what they choose to do is entirly on their shoulders.
Hi Sandy,
I too let my students know that I am here to help, and I am not out to get them. I really emphasize to my students that their success is my success.

Hi James,
In the past I have taken the approach, I'm your friend not your enemy; help me help you! If that doesn't seem to get through to them, I move them to a group that I have a strong type A individual who is great with interpersonal skills. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what will?
