what would do if the student refuse to answer general question?
I cannot say I have had a student totally ignore a question but I have asked a question of a student that did not know the answer. I usually try to given them hints and encourage them. f they really struggle I will have a classmate help them out.
I agree. Students will try to control the class and the teacher if they can. They will feel the teacher out to see how far they are able to go, and what they can get away with. If your not firm the firt day of class, they will not follow your rules.

YOU CONTROL THE CLASS BY SETTING SPECIFIC EXPECTATIONS AND RULES AT THE FIRST DAY OF THE CLASS, IN ADDITION, YOU AS INSTRUCTOR YOU SHOULD SHOW CONFIDINCE AND HIGH SELF STEM TO YOUR STUDENTS

I would talk to the student as to how this would be totally disrespectful in the workplace, and the boss would probably reprimand he/she. I would also take off participation points for the day. If it continued to happen, I would get the DOE involved.
