Cheating students is not new to the class room. Sometimes, it is out of laziness, not prepared, or want to get through without working. Regardless of the reasons it should not be tolerated.
Such incidents and students must be identified, confronted, discussed and take steps to prevent from happening again. It will help if this topic is discussed in the first week of class and ways it will be dealth with as means of deterring the behavior before it surfaces.

That a good way to do it that's same sistem is the one I use.
I have tried the multiple tests ( A, B, C, qizzes) and found it works well.
I have still had people copying work even when told it will result in a grade of 20% or less.
I also take great pains to point out that the results of cheating will show up very quickly to employers and also result in the people who did not cheat having problem finding jobs.
Usually,'enlisting' the 'honest' students results in self policing, some can see their future being compromised
The pressure to get through course without having to pay for a re-take is very high though

When I address the problem of cheating, I mention to the class they only hurt themselves in the long run. every student is paying the same amount of money for their education so they should get the same experience and knowledge out of it

In our learning environment we give one on one practical evaluations following the written test. Fortunately they are designed in a way that makes it very difficult to cheat. If a student is getting high marks on their written exam but cannot demonstrate how the material works during the one on one a red flag goes up. They receive custom tests to verify they are not cheating as the course goes on.

I too use two types of tests when testing I use a test A format and a test B format believe or not i still caught one of my students trying to cheat. I did confront that student and she insisted in telling me she was not cheating. Once they are caught I just tell them that they r cheating themselves and nothing else

I tell my students that even if they cheat there way through there school at some time within there career they must be able to perform the task's they have learned and there employer will know soon enough they do not have the necessary skills.

This is true but I donot give them a chance to cheet I want to help if I get a student that failed a test. I seperate my class when its test time.

I have caught a student cheating before and he failed that course. He wasn't happy but took responsibility for his actions. I try to not do the same thing every test. Sometimes I will stand in the front, sometimes the back. If they don't know where to look, it keeps them on their toes. I also do not grade any tests until they are all in and have them turn their test sheets over so you cannot see who's test it is.
