Difficult Students

A student who comes to class and takes up time with disruptive behavior robs the other students of learning and should be dealt with quickly and effectively. Each student should be given the opportunity to learn in a positive enviornment. By dealing with difficult students quickly will show the rest of the class as an instructor you respect them as individuals and understand their want to learn.

I have asked difficult, disruptive students to stand outside of the classroom so that I can speak to them directly and without disrupting the other students any longer than need be. I find it a helpful strategy

Hi Stacy,
You are definitely thinking correctly! Do not let students rob others of their education. The instructor has to produce an environment that is conducive for learning to take place.
