Angry Students

What does one do when a student blames your attepts to correct his/her behavior on racial prejudice?

A student had once stated that he was never instructed on how to do a particular procedure and verbally became very disrespectful. The student was given a minute to ventilate. Afterwards, he was given the opportunity to reflect on his behavior during break. At the end of it all, he realized what he did wrong and was willing to learn from the situation.

I would document every conversation with the student and talk with my supervisor about how they would like me to proceed.

Hi Roy,
Express in writing what took place either in memo format, email, or report format and place documentation in student's file.

Hi Roy,
You need to utilize the repercussions that you have established in your honor code as an institution. Cheating is cheating, regardless of the method.

Thank you for your response. But, what is the best way to document these situations?

What is the best course of action when one finds two or more students trying to cheat on a written project using the iternet?

Let the student give there reasons. And then make sure your ducts are in a row. Then try to show them that you are really on there side and insure them that it is never personal.

Hi Roy,
Have a talk with the student to let them know that is not the case, and also make higher authority known of the accusation.
