Very challenging topic. I believe this brief course was a great asset to my classroom skills.
I make up a few different versions of the test and pass them randomly around.
I do almost entirely essay questions just for this reasons. Save the multiple choice for at home quizzes. :)
I agree the multiple choice and true/false are prime breeding grounds for cheating. I have a new faculty who does fill-in the blank (without a word bank) and short answer questions. It takes longer to grade the exams and the students were upset with the exams at first; but there is not chance for cheating.
I agree with you, Diana. I am guilty of the Multiple Choice & True/False formats not realizing it is prime breeding ground for cheating. Looks like I'll be mixing things up a bit!
