Allowing cheating

I once heard an instructor say that if a student wants to cheat, then let him. The student only hurts themselves in the long run. I find this statement hard to digest because in preparing students for taking a registry exam, a teacher should want them to not rely on cheating and want to focus their energy on learning material.

I would never allow cheating in my classroom setting. I believe its very unfair to the students who actually studied, and more importantly it's a form of dishonest. Students should be held accountable for their values.

Hi Godwin,
Be extra careful calling out students that you suspect cheating. We do not want to be accusatory without evidence. If you have evidence, you have what you need to call them out.

Anybody with a passion for teaching will never stand a student who cheats. When I give student exams, I am on-top of them and I always call out any student I suspect is cheating.

Yeah, I can't agree with that either. That student is going to get good grades that the other hard working students might not. What if there is a job placement aspect in the school. That student will have an unfair advantage. And honestly, I dont want anyone like this in my industry if I can do anything about it.
I think I would deal with it pretty swiftly.
