Common Instructor Mistakes
Instructors make the mistake of not catering to all students' learning styles
Hi Celina,
I have witnessed that sometimes students can get points across better to their peers than instructors. Let's continue to be open minded and use whatever works.

I've tried to have the students find out how another peer learns best, while having them teach something to the class. Putting the challenge back into student teaching, has taught the students how they like to learn and what makes the ideas stick.
Hi Van,
Of course, hands on is a great teaching approach. I do a lot of hands on with my student as well, but I also like to use PowerPoint and demonstrations. By using PowerPoint and demonstrations, I connect with the auditory and visual learners too.

I have a lab component to my class. I think having a hands on experience really helps the students understand some of the concepts from the lecture. I am going to try to include a greater variety of teaching methods into my lectures.
Hi DeVaria,
I enjoy the hands-on activities the most. Some students really and truly must do it, in order to understand. I enjoy hearing the wow moments from students with the hands-on learning.

I agree Brittany. In my class I aim to incoporate all learning styles. I enjoy tactile incorporation the most because it gets us out of our seats. It serves as a lil think break from just hearing my voice or seeing the powerpoint slides during lecture.
Hi Loretta,
It is great whenever you can incorporate teaching to all three learning styles for a particular concept. This type of teaching, generally captures every student.
Patricia
It is important to try and work with all your students learning styles so I try and do all three with each major topic.
