Instructor Mistakes
Instructor mistakes should gradually be reduced with preperation and years of experience. Scott H.
Hi Eddie,
Mistakes will happen. Just keep striving to be the best.
Patricia
Making mistakes is a human event. Your students need to know that you are not prefect.
Try to keep them to a minimum but don't let the "judgment" of the students stop you from trying new or different thing.
Eddie
Hi Linda,
What matters most is that the student learns from their mistakes. It has made me a better person by making mistakes. You simply take it as a lesson learned, move forward, and try not to make the same mistake twice.
Patricia
I agree! admitting your mistakes can sometimes be helpful in building rapport. It lets the students know that, yes, you may have made a mistake, but it is something you recognize and will try not to do again.
Hi Scott,
Yes. I tell my new instructors the more you do it, the better you will become. The mistakes really do decrease as experience increases.
Patricia
The great part of making a mistake is learning from it. I always get really into the information that I have made mistakes on in the past. It's fun for me to take note and feel good about how far I've come! I also like to give my mistake as an example to the students, just incase that was how they were starting to look at the situation.
