Student interaction
Students need to interact with the other students and the Instructor. This gives more learning opportunities.
Hi Bj,
Yes they are! The more real the lesson is the more interest you have from students.
Patricia
Mock assignments are an excellant way to bring the 'real world' into the classroom setting.
The interaction will also encourage their interactions with others, when they tend to be shy.
Hi Patrick,
Group projects and mock assignments are also great to generate student interaction. I too like to generate interaction by playing educational games.
Patricia
Group discussions about: chronicles, documentary, field trip always provide interaction and role-playing
Hi John,
Absolutely! It actually means more to students when they feel they have a sense of ownership.
Patricia
The interaction definitely leads to more "ah ha!" moments than simply listening to a lecture. I come from a law school background where we used the Socratic Method to talk through lessons. Also, it gives the student a sense of ownership over the concepts, rather than just copying notes that an instructor is dictating.
Hi Shirley,
There is so much students can learn from each other. It is a great idea to bond with other students. Students can serve as a great support system for each other.
