proffesional image
by acting as a role model for my students.
Hi Kev,
Our students have many struggles in life, but it is good for them to see with education you can buy everything that you need and most of the things you want (watch).

I think professional attire is an important aspect to the image we convey. However, we need to seem relatable too. My students were impresssed when my husband presented me with an expensive watch for graduation but most can not afford to get money for gas or food. We have to show a professional image without over doing things. I mean it is important for them to see what the rewards are for attaining your education, don't get me wrong just with taste. I love the watch but my students see it somewhat differently than I do.
Hi Florence,
I concur! We have to watch our actions at all times and pick and choose our hang out spots.

Professional image also has a lot to do with attire; I believe that instructors should come to work in professional clothing, which does not necessarily coincide with the latest trends and fashions. Moreover, I dont think that instructors should be seen at "party" locales, especially with alcoholic beverages in hand! Whether we like it or not, we need to almost oust ourselves from locations and even certain people that we used to frequently visit, as we can easily jeapordize the sanctity (if you will) of our jobs.
