Well said--loving your job is crucial to effective teaching. Finding students energizing makes the challenges of teaching more manageable. E.M. Forster said, "Only Connect!" That's a good motto for teachers. It's all about making connections with students in meaningful and lasting ways. Teaching is a chance to turn students on to new ways of thinking and new ways of looking at the world, which makes it a highly rewarding field of endeavor.

I do believe if you really love what you are doing, its shows in your instruction of classes and your students feed off of your energy producing a positive, learning environment.

I too love my job! It is truly my passion. I know I can make about $10,000 more dollars than what I am making, but this is what makes me happy, and I am making such a positive difference in people's live. To impact one student, is to impact a nation!!

I agree. I love what I do even though it pays 1/2 what I made in the past. My work, my attitude, and my positive character had allowed me to move to a program chair position ahead of several other instructors in our department.
If you truly love your job, waking up and going is not hard. Your work ethics over time will get you the salary you desire. Hard work pays off.
