Managing a Class
we put a section in our syllabus regarding the expectation of professional behavior. This is presented to the students on day one so we are able to set the expectations for the students from the start.
I have a student contract that specifically outlines how the class will operate, what is expected and what is not acceptable. I go over it and give examples and answer questions. This gives students a chance to know me, establishes understanding of the classroom, and is the basis for a class participation grade. The students sign this and I keep it on file.
We have the same expectation. We feel it gives students guildlines
