How to gain respect from the students

As an Instructor you have to be professional with your students at all times. You have to show and give respect. always listen to your students concerns and have your class busy at all all times. be ready to answer all your students questions with respect and professionalism.

By treating my students like seasoned professionals in their field, even while they are still learning, I show my belief in them and help them to believe in their own potential.

I agree that you have to give respect if you want tne respect f your students

Yes i agree they should be treated like adults and they are more app to act like adults. there are no dumb questions.

Hi Mark,
I concur! Generally if you give respect, you will receive respect. I respect all of my students, simply because they are human. Students love it when you show them respect.

I believe respect is earned. Treat the students with professional courtesy. I start this from day one. Any issue I have had with a student has never been due to a lack of respect.

Hi Marilou,
You have it! Honesty is always the best policy. You have to give respect in order to receive respect.

I strongly believe in equal treatment in all aspects. Also, honesty is very vital to gain respect from the students.

Hi Paul,
I love your perspective! I conduct my classes/students the same way. I treat all my students the same, and I give all the utmost respect. If you give respect, you will receive respect, generally.

I have found the first - and simplest - way to gain respect is to GIVE respect. Since we are in a post secondary institution, I treat them like adults. I also explain that with that privilege also comes responsibility - I will not hound them about assignments or homework, BUT I also will cut them very little slack if they forget to to them. I have treated all of my classes this way, and I have had very few problems with students.
