styles of classroom management
I've had teachers who fall in each of the categories presented and the most efficient teacher for me was the Guide. I have therefore modeled my style of classroom management based on my personal experience.
I prefer the guide style also with a touch of controller and a touch of buddy at the right times.
I too have respect for the Guide style of classroom management and have modeled my teaching of adults after Guide style.
However, sometimes I feel twinges of being a Controller regarding assigned seating in the classroom.
Is it okay to have adults in assigned seating arrangement?
I liked assigned seating when I was a student (younger college age) and I still like it for teaching in the classroom.
Does this seem unreasonable or too Controlling?
