Students need something extra today in the classroom that goes along with them being entertained in some way. With technology being at our fingertips, we need to learn how to use it effectively in the classroom and this also borders on soft skills. You can simply tell them to go look something up, but if you make it fun and show them how to do something interesting, it will help. Enthusiasm is something that should be a requirement of every teacher in every class!
Highly effective instructors not only know the subject matter but deal with students in a fair and empathic manner. They set good examples, respect thier perrs and thier students.

Highly effective instructors get to know each of their students individually by name and class room personality. This enables the instructor to put a personal touch when interacting with the students during or after class. The students feel more comfortable and are more open to learn the material and communicate with the instructor and other students.

They are now calling this edutainment. mostly for toddlers and preschoolers. But in the same respect we do the same with some of the things we do in classes. It is just presenting the information in a way that people are more likely to remember it.

I think positive attitude. I do sometimes feel like an entertainer and I do have to perform miracles with the software and lesson somedays.
A quality that I believe highly effective instructors have is the ability to engage their students. I believe this is accomplished by their knowledge regarding the subject matter, enthusiastic presentations, and painting a clear picture of how learning the information will be beneficial to the student/class. An instructor can know the subject matter very well, but not be able to present it in the most effective manner. Another important quality is the ability to break the information down (when needed) so that students are able to comprehend the information.
The best skills for a highly successful instructor are those that motivate the student to follow thier lead and delve deep into the teachings.

Highly effective instructors are those that can relate to todays students on their level while remaining professional. It is more important than ever that we as instructors lead our students by showing themn how to use soft skills. There is so much technology today that people are forgetting how to communicate face to face.
I think the most important thing is integrity. We are role models for students that may not have had good role models in their life. When we are honest, tactful and unbiased in our teaching, when we do what we say and follow through with it, we are teaching more than information. When we show up and do all the things we expect them to do, it brings out the best in them.

In my opinion as positive attitude is the key to be effective. Passion is part of that positive attitude because we care about what it is that we teach. When we care about what we teach, it brings out our love for our craft. In essence that has to be ability to even transform the attitude of the instructor which is received by the students.It allows the instructor to connect the students to the objectives of the subject matter.
