Agents vs Representatives

I understand that Agents are allowed to work outside of campus - they're allowed to attend events and work in the students' homes.

However, about their specific licensure..

1. They're also 1-year licenses (Representatives also have to re-license every year), correct?
2. What's the non-transferable part of things affect? Are Representatives licenses transferable? (I'm just not sure why it made sure to mention that an Agent's license was non-transferable).
3. Are Representatives not licensed by the Commission?
4. If Representatives ARE licensed by the Commission (as Agents are, as well), then how come only Agents' resignations/dismissals require the Commission's notification?

Sandra,

Your school must notify the commission that you are no longer working for that particular institution. It is stated in the rules that licenses must be by the individual institution and when an employee no longer works there they must notify the commission of the revocation.

How would the new institute know if my license is no longer valid? If I leave an institute and go work for another one, how will the information be updated?

Samantha,
Yes, they are one year licenses. Non-transferable means that if they transfer to another school or another location, they cannot take their license with them. It means that the license is for that person at that location. Adission representatives are not considered agents because they only conduct business at the school location. They are required by the Commission to complete training. Once an agent resigns or separates from employment, the Commission must be notified as part of due diligence in the school notifying CIE that the license is terminated. It is a good business practice from the school side in that you do not want that particular individual to conduct business or collect enrollment fees when they no longer work for you. Otherwise, they Commission would not be aware of the separation.
