Financial Aid questions
So we shouldn't even give them general financial aid information? In other words, do we direct ALL financial aid questions to the financial aid department?
I do. The most I will discuss about any cost is the actual cost of the full program and then make sure that they are aware that there is Financial Aid available and they will go over any grants or scholarships available to them.
Dale,
Changes happen in FA daily. They are the experts.
Christopher,
A great way to handle the situation. Thank you for your post.
It is important to acknowledge their concern and refer them to Financial Aid. Communicating to the student that the Institute has a process in place to answer their questions will help make them more comfortable with the whole process.
It is importance that we let them no that finicial Aid is availble to them. But we feel they no all the changes and they can explan it a lot better
I work for a brand new university and at the moment we are not accredited. Are there any sources out there that can help the university in providing financial assistant to potential students?

I think by not answering questions, not only does it ensure that the state guidelines are being followed but it ensures that the student is talking to the expert in the field and getting all their questions answered
As an admissions rep, you should never talk about FA. Always transfer them to an available FA advisor.
Sara,
Financial aid is the subject matter expert. Good advice.
Jesse,
They are the experts and it is a best practice to introduce them early.
Elaina,
The financial aid advisor is the expert and should be the primary contact.
DeAnn,
This is a best practice to follow!
Sandra,
The Financial Advisor is the expert.
Diana,
In order to receive financial aid funding, your school must be accredited and approved for Title IV.
Roxana,
The proper response will keep you compliant.
Nicholas,
It is the best practice, one we should all follow.
Michelle,
That is an excellent process. Keeping the two separate is a good practice.
