Any tips or suggestions on successful marketing techniques? we currently are working on getting a website. we have banners and flyers made. Just looking for some advice.

Social media is a very powerful tool. We are barely understanding the scope of these forms of communication. Word of mouth is very powerful as well.

I am from the era before twitter, facebook, etc. I was not aware of the power these have. I have taken a course to better understand how we can use these resources for marketing purposes. Word of mouth is also a powerful marketing tool. Many of our students are referred by current students.

Since you have nursing programs at your school, you will want to add the Florida Board of Nursing regulations to your notebook. They have a great website to get you started.

Our university offers an LVN to BSN nursing program and we do direct mail marketing to licensed LVN's which allows us to directly deliver to our target market..
Mauren,There are many ways to market that are inexpensive or free. Facebook is an excellent avenue that we use to announce our upcoming classes, graduates, scholarships, contests, and salon specials. The photos you post here could be a great marketing tool in themselves. Start with your students liking your page and then their friends follow. Also, any websites that offer reviews. These could be through google reviews. Get your students and clients if you have any to post about your school. Use your students as walking billboards. Throw an appreciation barbeque. Do karaoke night. Do a potluck. Happy students market to places you will never go. Twitter is also helpful. Also, if you use a lead based system you could use icontact. It is about $20 per month and they have beautiful email blasts where you just fill in around their beautiful photos and send the blast. This will also show you who is opening your emails and who opens it multiple times so you could concentrate your efforts on these young men and women. Always carry a business card. There are young men and women you will come across in everyday life who fate has brought together with you at the perfect moment. These are some suggestions. But the most influential marketing technique I have learned is you have to really believe in the school you represent. Prospective students see to the heart of you and they know when they have found a home.

The most successful marketing techniques start with strong research on your target market. Marketing strategies need to be constantly evaluated to determine whether or not they are hitting your target market. Since marketing dollars really take a hit on a budget, you want to make sure you are getting the results.
