Cynthia,
There is always something to learn. Keep up the good work.

As I've mentioned before, I am quite new to the Admissions world and completely agree with Craig! Therefore, every single day is a learning experience. I gather new bits of information continuously, and don't ever foresee that changing! As an Admissions Representative, we must absorb like sponges on a daily basis!

Craig,
I am sure many people agree with your viewpoint. Training should be well rounded.

Rebecca,
Continual learning should be a best practice. Sharing our knowledge with others ensures the learning continues.

Kim,
Excellent advice. We need to be the best that we can be.

To be honest, I believe no institution completely trains new employees thoroughly. There typically is too much information to absorb as a new employee and too many times information is left out because the training person is showing the new person items they experience most.

I think that admissions should always be learning. Complience is very IMPORTANT, as well as product knowlege and so on. I have been in the industry awhile and I continue to learn something new! Things have changed allot too, and I always wants whats best for changing lifes, and being honest and guiding them in the right direction for things I DO NOT need to know...so who and where I direct them for questions that are not in comlience or I simply really do not know the right reason its better to get the right department head, and is important that you can approach your supervisors for questions you do not know or not sure about. And equally important is taking the step to find out for the prospective student and yourself

Jovanny,
Agreed. Thank you for your posting.

Joaquin,
Students rely on you for guidance. Being informed and compliant is beneficial for all.

With how important compliance is and how damaging the repercussions are for failure to comply, there could never be enough training on adherence and responsibility.

here at my campus as an admissions rep we are constantly being updated with the all the changes, and more importantly i want to be well informed not only for my own benefit, but more importantly the benefit of our student.

Jaime,
Referring back to one of your earlier posts, I see that you are on top of your game.

I believe my institution does the necessary training to assure that we stay in compliance, however there can never be enough trainig. Rules and regulations are constantly being modified and we need to make sure that we keep up with them.

Elaine,
Compliance is an area where there can also be improvement. Keep learning and refining.

Jeff-Our institution is doing a great job. I am impressed with the amount of knowledge I have gained in such a short time. I look forward to all of the training in compliance that I can get.

Erin,
Very important to say you will find out the information for your prospective client rather than guessing.

I agree with the answer "I'm not sure but I will find out" always better safe than sorry. It's better to have them wait for the proper answer than to give an answer that is non-compliant.

I agree; On-going training is the key to a successful, compliant Admissions Department. We come across new situations every day. Our Admissions Supervisors emphasize the importance of saying, "I don't know, but I will find out and get back to you" if they are faced with a question to which they do not have the answer.

Jenna,
New situations and questions arise all the time. It is important to share and learn together.
