Like I said I am new to this field, however I have attended a commission meeting and I found it very interesting. I have also reached out to the local workforce in my area and the have meeting as well that are very helpful to us. We at the school also have meetings periodically, since it is very important that every information is shared.
You've emphasized that the more you know about where you work and program and student offerings give confidence and make you more informed. But, additionally, you should feel enthusiasm-and the prospective students will really see and feel this.
Our admissions office will attend faculty senate meetings on a regular basis. We'll also attend academic support services or career services to keep up with our latest numbers.
Absolutely commission meetings are the primary and most invaluable source of keeping current with admissions policy, regulatory requiremtns and my institution. Attending these meeting is also important in that it allows all reresentatives the opportunity to network with others and gather an unlimited number of opinions. This kind of interaction offers a perspective perhaps not previously considered.
Basically the institution holds meetings, workshops and retreats to strengthen our institutional processes. Federal and state conference to keep us updated with the new information, regulations and statutes. Conferences inside and outside the country.
I usual attend meetings that other departments have so I can get familiar with their job and policies. It helps me understand the roles of other departments when I am speaking with students on the phone. It is quite helpful.
we attend weekly departmental product knowledge meetings, management meetings where we discuss processes that will enhance the student's overall experience while attending the institution. we have individual meetings with our school director and weekly team meetings to discuss the needs of our potential students.
I will become administrator of our school in January but know that going to meetings is an excellent way to network.
Susan,
You bring a great point to the forum in that we need to be current in our knowledge of the industry but also in our respective areas of responsibility.

Eigna,
It is crucial that we remain current and informed. If we do not make a strong effort to do so, we risk misinforming our students.

We have regular, weekly staff meetings that discuss admissions and all other aspects of the programs, especially if there are any changes on the horizon. I also attend regular meetings with other registrars at our institution to stay up to date on our offerings. I also attend the annual AACRAO conference and the local IACRAO workshops to stay up on regulations and industry standards.
This is a great idea. I will be doing this in the future!
Regularly scheduled meetings are planned throughout the year, and include both inside and field personnel. Also, other institutions affiliated with us through our corporate office. A formal agenda is used and all the campuses contribute to the discussion and presentations being given.
We have two different meetings a week based on performance and product knowledge about our campus. We go over students progress on mondays and on friday we have a meeting based on local knowledge of the campus and the different programs offered
I was very intrigued about the regulatory requirements regarding recruiting a student.
