Agents / Admissions
After carefully reading over this module, it was a great reminder of the right way to do things. As an Agent/Admissions Rep it is our main responsibility to understand each regulation and understand why they are so important. We should always put the student first in regards to the information that we give out. It goes back to the old saying, "treat others the way that would like to be treated." Never answer a question or provide information that you are not 100% sure of. Reach out the resources at your campus to learn frequently. The main way to bring about success to your campus is to be honest, be ethical, and always think of the student first.
Honesty, integrity, trustworthiness and interest in your students throughout their educational process at your school is a key factor in the success rates of your students. If they feel comfortable that their needs are important to the faculty and staff they will be more successful in your clssrooms, more cooperative with their fellow students and teachers and also, more comfortable with recommending your school to their family and friends.
I agree wholeheartedly with the above mentioned post. In this business ethics and principles are not only important, but they are a vital necessity. If we provide students with falsified information not only are we in danger of loosing our jobs, but we truly are doing a diservice to those students who need help the most.
Maintaining a extraordinary ethical repor is the key to being a sucessful agent. When that becomes the center of your mentality, everything else seemingly falls into the right places.
I completely agree. This particular module did indeed provide an abundance of information that will be useful to Agent/Admissions Reps. The information provided has given us the knowledge and requirements/guidelines needed to follow to ensure that we are providing customers (prospective students) with the upmost quality customer service.
I like Mark's response. I too am a parent and I like knowing that every admissions faculty member is regulated.
I am a parent, and id like to think a good one at that. I wasnt born that way i had to work at it and learn on the job so to sopeak. Just like this position. I go at this just like parenting, and i treat everyone as if they were my child and tell them the truth with respect and dignity. because you get back what you put forward.
I agree with this. It is important that you inform new students of factual information because one unsure answer can lead to a potential loss of a student that can change their lives positively. It is important to let them know the facts to help them determine if it is a good fit for their needs.
William:
Very well said. it is important that students receive accurate information that will allow them to make a well-informed decision about whether to enroll.
I agree that it is our reponsibility to make sure that the information that we give is the "correct" information. By giving wrong or over exaggerated comments or information, we are doing no good to the student or to our organizations. If I do not know the answer to a students questions I will search that answer out immediately or get the correct information back to the student as quickly as I can. It only helps to ensure that the right information is going out to our students and we are doing our jobs correctly.
