Increasing Student Understanding
It is extremely important that enrollment requirements, policies, tuition and fees, and refund policies are clearly presented to the student. This is the first stage of helping the student get involved in the education process. If a student has a clear understanding of what they are entering into and the process, they will feel more confident and involved in the school. Vaguely discussing, or skimming over these important items can lead to confusion and stress in a student, which will ultimately effect retention and student success.
What other benefits do you think can come from increasing student understanding in these areas?
If they understand everything, it is a lot easier for them to make the investment. As well, I have found that saying," I only extend applications to people who are commited to graduating. If you are there, than we can proceed. So What are your thoughts towards this??
This helps them understand, that this is their decision and retention is much easier.
By preparing the student and giving all information regarding enrollment requirements, tuition & fees, and refund policy will allow students to be better prepared and will make them feel more comfortable during the enrollment process
I think a benefit of increasing student understanding of all aspects is that as the confidence grows in the investment they are making, the excitement about the possibilities ahead of them grows as well. If the student is excited about the possibilities, they are more likely to stick with school even during rough patches.
Increasing student understanding, in my opinion, makes them more comfortable with the process as well. It also allows for a certain level of trust and mutual understanding between school and student.
understanding the best way to follow the process and be more focused.
