Staying connected

It is so important that we stay connected as a school. Having regulatory meetings is a great way to staying on top of things, to understand that even though their may be many departments in an organization, and may people have the attitude that's not my job, or why do I have to know that. Because if you are not successful in one department as a whole - your business will not be successful in all departments

I agree 100%. It is very important to stay connected and communicate about everything that is going on in the school. I can say we have training once a week, monthly team meetings with the whole office and monthly department meetings. It is great because I feel connected and know what is going on. We can also call in to any of the meetings when we are on the road.

Wow! You said it. Communication is key within any organization. Being informed and having a good understanding of all of the components of the organization makes me a better employee.

I wholeheartedly agree! I think it is vital to one's success as an agent to build a relationship with other departments as you never know when you may be working more closely together or when you may need to help one another out. Additionally, it helps agents and reps to become much more informed about the services available to students outside of their cirriculum. Another thing I think it important for reps and agents to do is tour the campus of the programs they are trying to promote. It is much simpler to advise students when you are familiar with a campus and all it has to offer first hand.

I agree with cross-training being and important part of becoming a well rounded professional. Periodic meetings with other departments allows not only allows us to understand each other better; it provides for integration of the school as a whole.

I think staying connected is crucial. I think you need to be aware of changes, regulatory meeting, and well informed of various departments.

I agree. by having those regular meetings it helps us to stay connected and continue to work as a team. When we are all on the same page we are much more sucessful as a whole.

This is so true! It's wonderful to have access to co workers and faculty through the advancement of technology!

I absolutely agree. You cannot stay in your office and be the best agent that you can be. You need to network and attend meetings. Sometimes meetings are interdepartmental which helps in keeping on top of issues related to the school but not in your day to day routine.

I completely agree that it is important to understand the role of each department within your organization. Cross-training and working closely with administrative, admissions, faculty, academics, and operations will provide all employees the opportunity to become a more well-rounded professional.

Being a remote High School Representative for my company, it's great to know that our team is always emailinng each other every single day, and we know each other are just a phone call away.

We also have team conference calls every month, or sometimes twice a month depending on how chaotic things can be.

It's just important to remember that we live in a technological world and people can be reached in a multitude of different ways. Be creative if you're not in the office... Teachers may not be near their office phone but almost everyone has a smart phone these days... Try their email. Does your school use an IMing program? What about LinkedIn? Even Facebook!

I believe that it is important to stay connected and to beware of changes and requirements in the organization. It is everyone's responsiblity to know what is current.

I agree. Daily contact is very important.

Nichole,

I love to hear of a school that stays on top of what is happening to the students on a daily basis. This involvement is sure to be beneficial to the students.

I agree 100 percent. We have daily Quality Meetings to evaluate the classes that were delivered the day before, who was in the class and any problems reported related to that class. It is time consuming but very important. It gives us a chance to know who was in what class, and what their experience was, so that we can provide a quick follow-up with accurate knowledge of any issues that was faced; More importantly, it lets both GM and Director of Admissions fix any problems that may be going on as a whole. Huge impact on the direct invlovement of management with the students directly.
