Financial Aid
How are some good ways to comfort the families with all the information?
I understand that the investment in your education is important to you. Part of the enrollment process is for you to meet with a financial aid adviser. They will review the financial aid options that are available to you based on your situation. As a school system we have helped thousands of students and I am sure they will be able to come up with a plan that will help you meet your financial obligations.
Financial aid can ber very confusing and intimidating. If it is possible to set up some time for an experienced financial aid representative to hold a forum with potential studens and/or their parents to educate them and give them all of the "dos and donts" of accepting financial aid, ie; repayment, missed payment consequences.
Provide students an understanding that the financial aid process is a customized plan which is based on the eligibility of the student.
I am not sure why our financial aid officers at The Art Institute of Ohio-Cincinnati does not need to do the agent permit. This entire section was on financial aid and I hope our financial aid officers are aware of the rules and regulations by the state of ohio.
Of course this is a very touchy subject. Financial aid is a reality for most prospective students. They must realize that in the long run aid has long term implications.
It is important for the family to understand full disclosure and actually embrace it as a learning process. Often times students and their families do not realize financial aid can have long-term ramifications. Also, student aid is only a portion of their entire "big" financial picture. They should be made aware of this and invited to embrace the learning process.
With all the information that goes along with the Financial Aid process it helps to provide as much information as possible. When going over Financial Aid provide cost estimate for the school year with the amounts of Financial Aid. Go over each and every amount as to ease the families mind. Do not push anything on them. Educate the families on each area as to help them better understand how the process works.
I would like to take the time out to explain the financial aid process. The team of representatives will assure you have the best package according to what you may qualify for. The main thing is to see what benefits you and try to meet your needs here at our school.
