Do Not Call
What if they don't say they want to be called when you collect their information, but when you do call them and they bring up the Do Not Call could you get in trouble?
It is always important to have documentation that they inquired for a phone call or information. On the inquiries our potential students fill out, there is a signature line that gives us permission to call them and supply the information they requested.
I find the best policy is to ask them if it is ok for us to call them on the number(s) that we have. That makes it clear.
Them requesting information opens the door to contact them as they have established a relationship. If, when you call, they ask you not to call, that relationship is over and repeated calls would be a violation if they chose to push it.
i always ask the prospect student what do they prefer: email, mail, or phone. That way I know what they are comfortable with. If they say email or mail I usually dont press for the phone number and make sure they have mine. If they contact me by phone first that gives me the okay to call.
Simply reminding the individual that they requested a call may refresh their memory. However, repeated calls after they bring up DNC would be in violation, in my opinion.
