Some practices we utilize are thank you e-mails, 24 hour follow up calls and written thank you notes. We have found the utilization of all of these methods attributes to a better conversion. We've found that the best results come from the use of all follow up techniques, not just one.
What a great attitude to have, Duy! All the best to you and your future success.
Anything to keep myself moving forward to being better.
It's so true that when you take the time to develop your relationships with students, it can help to connect you with others. Keeping info cards is a great practice, Duy.
Keeping an info. card on them is one way that I can reach out to them by phone or e-mail. I've recieved quite a few referrals from a good relationship built with these students.
Great approaches, Claudia. How has sending emails and making follow up phone calls impacted your results with students?
Sounds to me that you care for your students and their well-being, Karina. I'm sure that goes a long way in maintaining lasting connections. Thanks for sharing!
Call one prospect student once she was sick .The day after I call her again not to follow up with the admissions process, but to ask her how she was feeling, that makes the student realize that she is not a number and that we really care.
It sounds like you prefer to keep in close contact with your students as a way to support them in their decision making process, Claudia. That's great. Besides calling the next day, what are some other ways you work to maintain your connection through follow up?
Calling the next day, very important to follow up, usually by the next day, they already talked to a relative or friend who might have influenced them in a positive or negative way, I need to answer any new question that might have arised.
Great point Brian. Personalizing e-mails or phone calls can certainly build a great level of rapport with your student.
I follow up with my student's within a day or two, to embed their name and what they want out this school so I won't always have to rely on notes and be robotical.
I feel it's important to make sure that you aren't calling or contacting them simply for the sake of contact. A tip on their uniform shoes, some facts about orientation...lets them know that they're not facing this alone.
It sounds like you use your follow up as a way to stay connected to your students and address questions and concerns as they may arise, Michael. This is a crucial piece in maintaining your relationship, great work! I like the idea of maintaining weekly contact with your prospect as well. I'm curious, how do your prospects usually respond to your weekly outreach?
I follow up with my student the next day because a lot of information was covered the during the interview process and I want to make sure they don't have any new question or concerns that may not have been covered. Then after the first contact, it is good to maintain at least weekly contact with the prospect.
Continuing to foster your relationship with the student after they have enrolled is a great approach. My guess is that your students truly appreciate your sincere interest and that you take time out for them. It's not surprising to hear that you typically receive student referrals when you work hard to keep connected to your students! Keep up the good work.
After enrolling I always follow up within a couple of days, asking if they have any questions. I also make sure to acknowledge them when I see them around campus. Spending a couple of minutes with them just finding out how they are doing or how their kids are doing can really make an impact! By continuing to show personal interest in the student it almost always results in referrals!
This is awesome, Jesus! I've heard from many admissions professionals that they wish they could "keep" their students after they enroll because they often lose touch. My suggestion, do exactly what you do...Keep In Touch. There's no reason that you shouldn't continue to be there for your students as they go through your program. And when you demonstrate that commitment, they feel safe sending their friends and family to see you to help them. Continued success to you.
Absolutely! Not only can follow up allow you to address additional challenges, but it also demonstrates that you keep your word. Keep it up!
