it depends on what and if any objections arise. They can range from FA requirements, class start times, transportation to family objections. Regardless of the reason the prospective student needs to feel that I'm here to help them find a solution.
Sounds like you use regular follow up to check in with your students and cover any additional information they're looking for, Marji. Many admissions professionals find it difficult to actually reach their prospective students with a follow up call. How do you follow up with your students when you can't reach them by phone?
Excellent practice, Jennifer. I'm guessing that when you schedule the follow up call or appointment, there's a greater likliehood that the student answers the phone or shows up. Do you find this to be true?
It sounds like you believe following up with your student is another opportunity to connect, not only with them but those that are important to them too, am I right? Obviously, it's best to address all challenges when the student is in front of you, but we know this doesn't always happen! Taking the time to follow up can give you another chance to generate more options to existing challenges or new challenges that may have surfaced. How do you go about doing this in your follow up, Sam?
It sounds like you recognize the importance of following up and how it can help you and the student re-connect, Tito. What are some things you might do to make sure the student has discussed their decision with the important people in their life?
I keep in touch with my sturdent after they have enrolled and have received many referals because of it
I call them up, make sure their ok. Do you have
any questions?
I actually schedule a phone call or appointment for follow up. That way I gain the commitment for the follow up.
It's best to follow up within a couple days, to make sure they have had time to review the information and dicussed it with the important people in their lives. It's gives me a good idea on where the students thoughts are,and whether or not I need help them overcome anymore challenges that might of surfaced during their review
Always Following up with them within 2 days and make sure that they discuss it with the important people in their life.
Following up with prospective students the next day is a great practice, William. An issue that many admissions professionals deal with is getting that student back on the phone after the initial meeting. Has this happened to you? It would be great to know how you deal with students that you're unable to reach the day after. What are some tips you can offer to other professionals?
You're right,Ingrid, courtesy calls after meeting with prospective students are an important element in ensuring you've covered all pertinent information with them. A number of admissions professionals nowadays often find having a "live" follow up conversation with a prospective student increasingly difficult. Have you found this to be the case? If so, how might you adapt your follow up for better results?
Always call the day after. it gives them enough time to think it over on their own and come up with any more concerns they may have and its soon enough to where they havent forgotten what those concerns are and what we went over the day before.
Works great...
Give them a courtasy call the day after! test the waters see what questions you might have not answer.
