I believe selected service is the most difficult. The documentation is sometimes difficult to get.

Ricardo,

The situation described above is very difficult to resolve. If the student arrived in the country beyond the required age you can document the entry date; however, without that documentation it is going to be difficult to resolve. All valid entry documents should have the documentation to support the date of entry into the country. It may require some additional effort on the part of the FA Office to resolve.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

I believe the most difficult one is the Selective services because we have male student they are for a another country and they never apply with Selective Service and they have to provide proof of entry and something more detail documentations.

Rachael,

Researching and resolving Pell LEU's can be difficult. Also, if an error is discovered you should document from the institution that the student did not attend or receive federal Pell. This documentation may be used to dispute an invalid Pell LEU.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

I would say the C code related to Pell LEU. It takes addittional research to find out where the student is in the percentage of used Pell and sometimnes NSLDS isnt updated as quickly as we would like it to be.

Bryan,

I agree this can be a tricky comment code to resolve since you are working with your student and requirements from another institution. The best approach is to counsel your students on their options and have them work with the institution to resolve.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

The Pell overpayment can be an extremely challenging C code to resolve. It is difficult to communicate with prior institutions for resolution and typically college students will not have the resources to pay it off out of pocket.

Miriam,

I agree the Selective Service can be difficult. As long as you can document that the student entered the country after their 26th birthday you should have sufficient documentation. If the student documentation used for eligible alien status has the date of entry into the country and it is after the 26th birthday you should be good.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

Selected Service, because in Miami we have lots of students that become US citizen or a resident after 26 years old.

Jeffrey,

I agree the C-Code related to Pell Overpayment can be difficult to resolve, especially if the institution is closed or unable to locate the information. It is very important when working C-Codes that you maintain an open communciation with the students to ensure they understand the process and what it takes to resolve.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

The C-Code that is most difficult to resolve is the Pell Overpayment. This must be resolve on a school level and sometimes the previous institution are closed or dont have any info concerning the Overpayment.
