These courses provide great tools and information to keep institutions compliant and reinforce the importance of always provide the student with the most accurate and helpful information.
In Career Services, we consistently review regulatory and compliance rules and regulations. It's good to be informed of the rules for other departments within the school. In addition to learning new information, this training provided reinforcement of information I already know.
This course helped me to better understand standard practices for admissions. I feel that it is helpful & definitely should be a requirement for all admissions' postions across the baord to avoid any misrepresentation of such topics.
After going through this course it showed me what each department compliance are and gave me a better understanding of what is required. This course has helped with some questions that came up with students that i didn't know before.
One of the best things about this training is that it effectively reinforces that doing the right thing and maintaining a high level of integrity is not a bad thing, or something to be fearful of, rather it should be a natural part of daily interations to promote the best possible experience for our students. Transparency creates an environment where students are accurately prepared for their learning experience, and helps to alleviate some of the tensions in the classroom when inflated expectations were created through superlatives in the admissions process and therefore not lived up to in the educational experience. … >>>
If you follow "Do the Right Thing", the Marketing Best Practices naturally fall into place. You don't want to list ads in "Help Wanted" sections because the people looking there are specifically searching for jobs, not education - Not Right. You don't want to ask current students for testimonials because they might feel pressure to say something nice weather they mean it or not - Not Right. And you don't want to show visuals of great labs and equipment if you don't provide it - Not Right. Doing the Right Thing is honestly and clearly showing who we are.
Being in Career Services, it is helpful to review this information periodically to keep it fresh in our memory. These are topics that you can never see enough of.
I felt that have the learning activities was very helpful. They assisted in being in the right frame of when posed with situational questions in the quizzes.
However, it did not seem the sections were evenly distributed. Half were very long and the other half were shorter. With time constraints in working with students and graduates with appointments, it would be helpful for the section content to be more evenly distributed.
Understanding my company's view on compliance and the industry in general really helped make a few things more clearer. It was a good tool to use and look forward to more training on this subject when available.
The testing was helpful in that it gave me the knowledge to be able to continue with my job as a receptionist. I now know what I can and cannot convey to prospective students as I answer the phone.
This training was a great learning tool for me. It will allow me new ways to look at things in the class room as an instructor.
Completing the Compliance Modules has helped me to understand so much more about the restrictions in place for our educational institution. It affirms that when we do the right thing, students will come for the right reasons. Results will be positive. Completing these modules helps every employee be keenly aware of their interactions with students; verbal, written and via social media.
I have enjoyed this module. It has been very helpful with understanding the set up and use of an online course. I will recommend it highly to my coworkers.
I believe that all the information contained in this session was valuable to me and my job and something that I share with the faculty and staff. Unfortunately there are too many interruptions during the day, tired at night, and trying to fit the sessions in at night or weekend are difficult and disjointed. I persevered because I was required to do so, but frankly appreciated the lessons learned or were reinforced. Integrity is a valuable trait for me and my family so this lesson was appreciated more so than some other topics.
I definitely could have taken even greater advantage of all the valuable information disseminated in this course if would have done it on my own without all the interruptions.
A lot was learned during these quizzes and tests that will allow me to be a more effective communicator and disperse phone calls and questions much better.
I have taken quite a few of these online trainging course and this definataly sopke to me and what I do at my campus. Very helpful
I think that information that I learned will help me as an employee say as complaint as possible.
This course provided valuable information and helped refresh my memory on policies. Great course!
This course has really taught me things that I took for granted prior to completing the course. As a assistant scoutmaster, I relate much of this information to the teaching and learning of the scout laws, in terms of being trustworthy, honest and reverent. As far as my employment situation, I also feel that it is important to be all those things (transparent) and more in order to build positive, lasting relationships with staff, students and the entire learning community. This is a great start to creating a culture conducive to quality education. Looking forward to other quality on-line courses like this one.
I definitely learned from this course. Most of this information is not required in my position at YTI, but I appreciate the fact that I now have more knowledge in reference to Compliance at YTI. YTI is definitely all about transparency and "Doing the Right Thing".
