ed 103

This course was very interesting.  As a new teacher, I have been using the test banks from the book companies.  Many times they have been adiquate, however, one book I am using seems to be a nightkmare.  I am looking forward to revamping thier material into more readable questions and getting more feed back from students.

This course reinterated to me the imporatnce of using instruction that will reach the different learning styles of students. As primarily a clinical instructor, the "hear it, see it, do it, teach it" technique has been the most affective technique I have found thus far in the lab and on the floors.  The students are usually nervous at first, but once they are at the last stage to "teach it" to a peer they are very confident and have built their self esteem.

I have been writting my own exams, rather than using textbook standard testing. I find by doing this it gives me a better understanding of how the students are using the information given during lecture.

I enjoyed reviewing this course. It refreshed the knowledge that students  need different teaching styles in order to most effectively understand the content. As an instructor, I must incorporate different styles.

this class helped a bunch as a new instructor, i now have lecture styles and knowledge of what suits me as an instructor

I have been using these tricks and concepts in my traditional class room   Why?  I am often confronted with students who are physically present but who are in fact somewhere else in time and space.  The concept of a dynamic syllabus has already been employed.  And I also use this material to revamp my online course.   But in our institution we are concerned about using open blogs that exposes the institution to risks.

I found the ED103 very interesting. The part about using the appropriate testing style will help in my future class exams.
