Multiple types of Quatnitiative and Qualitative feedback are needed to evaluate the course. This is not something I am used to being a in classroom teacher. I think it would take some planning and getting used to on my part.

A sentence I heard in the last module sumed it up for me. Feedback should be used to help students continue their learning process, as the rubric's job is to give reason for the grade obtained. That turned on a light bulb for me. I had never thought of it that way before.

Facilitator planning is an important key to the students ability to build their learning scaffold. It is important for the syllabus of the course to be interactive so students can use it as a component to guide them through the course. The syllabus should be easy to use, and provide all needed information. The facilitator should always survey to see if anything was missing or needed from the students in the course. This will only better your instruction as a facilitator.

Students need to be able to use the online templates. It is important to stay consistant in each seperate module. These modules must also be user friendly. Keep in mind as they are being developed, this is an online class. It is very different than a class you have taught in person. Small chunks of information need to be used whether it be video, text, or audio. Students need time to process the information given.

The main thing I learned in this module is how to distinguish between the different types of online learners, and how to positively engage them into online discussion. This is useful in everyday online learning.

I didn't relize there were differences between discussion types online. I also didn't realize there was a better time to use each one. After listening to this module, It makes complete sense that students would learn better through asynchronous discussion. Rather than synchronus. I will look for ways to change this option in my personal lessons.

Students must feel welcome in order to learn. It is your job as a online facilitatior to make sure that level of trust and relationship is well known throughout your course. Share a personal biography, ask students to do the same, and to comment on at least 2 people's biography from the class. Send check in emails to make sure student know you are there for them and willing to help when needed. Make sure all expectations are known at the beginning of the class. You could maybe post a class syllabus for refrence.

In order for my students to be successfull, I must set them up for success by making sure nothing goes wrong on my end. I must also be patient with them, and understanding when technical issues do arise.
