With rubrics you can assess students' work accurately and consistently whether as a performance, process, or product.

When students receive rubrics before completing the assignment, they understand how they will be evaluated and can prepare accordingly. Developing a rubric and making it available as a tool for students' use will provide the scaffolding necessary to improve the quality of their work and increase their knowledge.

Essay questions can be an excellent measure of understanding to require students to go beyond rote factual knowledge. Problem-solving questions can require students to demonstrate the steps to solve a problem. Both types of subjective assessment involve higher thinking skills.

Diagnostic assessment provides instructors with information about what the student brings to the course, and would be useful in my classroom. This type of assessment may also assist me in grouping students who are more fluent in the area of learning with those who are not as informed.

in my work, utilizing a digital portfolios function as a technology assessment tool to provide ian opportunity to see the strides a student has made in the understanding of content woudl work really well. I could require students to provide documentation of projects from early in the course and projects completed later in the course.

Looking forward to finding and using tools that seem “fun” and collaborative. Blogging and gaming aspects in the classroom could really prove valuable to my students!

Students responding to other students will not only enhance student engagement but will build community with the course. Ill be adding more student to student responding to my classroom for sure!

Determining the appropriate method (synchronous or asynchronous) is essential to the livelihood of the course. Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages but must be investigated to determine the likelihood of success in an online environment.

Through a student-centered approach, active learning develops along with critical thinking and problem solving. Therefore, technology tools must be chosen to facilitate this type of learning.
