Using multiple tools to get the feedback that is needed to make critical, meaningful, continuous changes that enhance your online course is key!

Giving guidelines prior to asking students to review their own work or the work of their peers is key in making that a succesful exercise!

Engouraging collaboration as a tool to foster a sense of beloging in the classroom is a great idea!

Having a learning-objects database of  files, graphics, audio, video, or any necessary course component that may be used more than once in a course or in a variety of courses is such a great idea.  I guess I have this started but should spend some time organizing and building on it.

Thinking of attrition as something I can help with as an instructor is very intersting.  Excessive workload being one of the top reasons of attrition is a real eye opener!

Allowing time for small talk is crucial to providing a good online learning experience. Offering time for small talk at the beginning of class and closing remarks at the end will engage the students in a deeper more meaningful way.

It seems simple and mabye even obvious..but having the students create a biography to be shared with other students is BRILLIANT!  Can't wait to add this to first day activities!

My biggest take away at this point it the importance of both instructional support and technical support.  Making students feel comfortable with the technology is equally as important as letting them know that the instructor will be there to support them in their learning.
