Even though I, as a faculty member, have to go through some kind of training for recruitment practices and federal regulations tied to them, I don’t really see what faculty CAN do to make them better. Can I get any suggestions on this?

@Shanna,

Is there any special reason why you don't allow your students to text you?

I'm trying to use all the technology that my students are using today, and I believe that makes it easier and more interesting for them to pay attention to the class. I also make sure that all the students are on the same level of proficiency, so nobody feels left behind.

I just finished ED105 and even though I knew more than 80%
of the material before I started the course, I always find something new to
learn.

I know that I’m the one closest to the student so a lot depends
on me. I’ve been applying a lot of these techniques in my classroom already and
I can testify that they really work.

Even though I do have a support I wouldn’t mind having more
of it. Support is like money- you can never have too much of it.

How good are you in keeping up with technology in your
learning environment? I mean letting students text you about being late to
class, collaborating on projects and posting assignments on site such as Google
or using YouTube and other websites in the classroom for learning benefits. And
do you consider this to be a part of your professional growth and development?
