I truly appreciate the fact that there are no commissions associated with enrolling students. It takes the pressure off Reps and allows students to relax when they know you're looking out for them and not a commission.
Being an Admissions Representative is about doing the right thing even if no one is watching. The people we meet may or may not be shoppers but that shouldn't matter. We should treat each person like we would want to be treated and enjoy the process of helping them change their lives without considering any goals or such. Focus on doing the right thing. As Zig Ziglar said, "Help enough people get what they want (or need) and you'll get what you want."
Doing the right thing is really a matter of choice. I believe we inherently know the right thing to do and the wrong thing to do and should pay attention to that tension in our gut. If you don't know that what you're doing is right or wrong but there's tension then ask someone(s) for feedback. Finally, if we treat others with the same respect, honesty and care we would want then we're probably on the right path.
