I usually asked a lot of questions in class either to get them involved or to test their understanding but one thing I always struggled with is the wait-time. Sometimes students will be quick to answer and sometimes the question is followed by a long silence.
I have to say this one of the most useful class I've ever had. I was able to identify my "style" of classroom management. One thing for sure is that I will work on the proactive techniques in order to minimize discipline problems and to start using the "I" language. very helpful class.
I understand that it is an important key but let's be realistic, how can we truly listen and help students when you have to teach a big class and you only spend 2 hours with them. Most of the time i feel powerless.
Any suggestions on how to adjust to everyone's learning style? Sometimes in my classroom I have students that easily comprehend the topic that is covered and some that struggle to make sense of it.
Any suggestions on how to direct students that do not apply themselves to learn or to participate in class specially when you notice that this student has the potential to succeed.
My policy is no cell phone use in class except for emergencies. How can an instructor deal with student that disregard the policy and consistently texting.
