Well this is certainly an interesting conversation to begin after reading through this first section of my renewal. Accreditation is so important for a school to have when it comes to having your students and prospective students have confidence in the school they will be attending. What I found to be noticeably imperative for an Admissions Representative to know is that it is okay to say that you do not know the answer to a question. So far one of the most interesting ideas in this job for me is to not have to necessarily MASTER the financial aid aspect of our job. We can know the basics, but it is not our job to communicate the information or tell a student what theey are eligible for. With my previous jobs, It was common to be an expert in all aspects of the company. But here, we know what the other departments do, and how to work with them harmoniously, but it would be wrong of me to try to do their job for them. I… >>>

Hello all! This is my first time being an admissions representative. I never realized the amount of training that is required to represent a school the way the we all do. It gives me peace of mind, however. I have one question. My background is strong in customer service - I have worked for a hair salon (as a manager) for the last 5 years. My question is: In your day to day activities in your job do you use more sales experience or customer service?
