Having taught computer networking at the college level for the last 10 years I don't think I have ever taught a class the same way twice. I am always discovering new ways of doing things, items that I would do differently, and just trying to learn from my mistakes and what works and doesn't. I think an Instructor has to always be flexible in accepting change. I'm always interested in how other instructors do things in their classroom. After 11 years of teaching and just when I think I've made every mistake possible I find something new. I've mispronounced words, made errors on tests, explained things backwards and just about anything you can think of. I have learned that you just have to keep your sense of humor at all times and don't be afraid to laugh at yourself and admit when you make a mistake. I teach Information Technology and there are many areas in which there isn't always a black and white answer. This actually is helpful when I ask students questions. Rather than just 1 or 2 students answering a question I can actually the whole class. Each one of them may have a differing opinion but we can then start to develop what we as a group feel the "better" overall answer would be.
